Here are some things you might want to write about in your story. These questions can help inspire your story, but they are just suggestions.

  • What are some things that help you be healthy in your daily life?
  • What are some parts of your daily life that make it hard for you to be as healthy as you want?
  • Are there specific things about your neighborhood or surroundings that make it easy or difficult for you to be a healthy woman?
  • Tell us about a time that you felt really healthy. What was it that made you feel that way?
  • Discuss a time when you didn’t feel healthy. What was it that made you feel that way? Do you find it difficult to get preventive health care (for example, check-ups even when you are not feeling sick)? Why or why not?
  • Have you ever wanted or tried to get a health care visit (like a check-up), but it didn’t work out? Tell us about what happened.
  • Given everything going on in your life, how important is it for you to see a doctor when you are feeling healthy? Please tell us why you feel this way.
  • What has been the biggest barrier to your ability to get health care, birth control, dental care, or mental health counseling?
